BOOTS - Head of Security

Goals

This site exists out of the necessity to provide very biased opinions on products and services targeted at our pets. It also provides a repository of knowledge gained through actual experience of pet ownership and discussions with qualified professionals. Every dog is different, but there are a lot of common behaviors and needs.  If your dog is doing something you think is strange, chances are someone else’s dog is too. We strive to provide some answers.

How we got here

There is no perfect guide for pet parenthood, but having a checklist of “gotchas” would make life a lot easier. Learning through others’ mistakes saves so much time and worry.  How much chocolate was in that cupcake my dog just ate? Is this a trip to the veterinarian or the doghouse?

Everyone has been the victim of good marketing. Many of us have purchased products for our pets that turned out to be trash at best, harmful at worst. We provide honest recommendations for products that have actually been pet-tested, not dreamed up by a faceless marketer that forgot to feed the class goldfish in second grade.

How we keep the lights on

Throughout the site and in several articles are links to recommended products.  If you decide to purchase these products, we get a small commission. This may seem like a conflict of interest, and many would be tempted to just recommend the products that pay the best commissions and not necessarily the best for our pets.  We take this responsibility seriously, and will only show products we know.  In the end, it is up to our pets; they either like it or they don’t, it is either good for them or it is not. We aren’t here to buy bigger boats, but web servers cost money.
